01 — The challenge
Packaging procurement runs on phone calls, spreadsheets and re-keyed purchase orders. InPackGenie wanted to consolidate suppliers, buyers and internal operations into a single system — without forcing any of them to change how they think about their work.
The hard problem wasn't the storefront. It was the operating model underneath: every role sees different pricing, different inventory and different workflows, and every order has to produce compliant financial paperwork without a human in the loop.
02 — The approach
01
Model the business before the screens
We mapped the full order lifecycle — enquiry, customization, quotation, approval, fulfilment, invoicing — with the founders before any design work began. The domain model became the contract for everything that followed.
02
One platform, four operating realities
Suppliers, buyers, operations and administrators each got a purpose-built workspace over shared data. Role-based access control was designed into the schema, not bolted on at the route level.
03
Make compliance invisible
GST-ready invoicing, numbering and tax logic were engineered as a core service. Finance paperwork generates itself the moment an order changes state.
03 — What we engineered
Multi-tenant role architecture with granular permissions across supplier, buyer, operations and admin workspaces
Real-time product customization engine — dimensions, materials and finishes priced live as buyers configure
Automated order orchestration from enquiry through fulfilment with full audit trail
GST-compliant invoicing and document generation wired into order state transitions
04 — The outcome
Quote turnaround that used to take days of back-and-forth now happens in a single session. Suppliers onboard themselves. Operations stopped re-keying orders into accounting software because the platform produces compliant paperwork on its own.
InPackGenie now runs procurement as a product — a system that compounds, instead of a process that depends on whoever picks up the phone.
“WebglowX didn't build us a website. They built the system our business runs on.”
